ArmSafe® Kit with 14AWG wire is rated for 50Amps continuous and 75Amps Burst. BUT these limits are ONLY a guide, see below.*
The ArmSafe® System was created to improve the safety of electric RC models by giving the user better control of WHEN they energize and de-energize their models. This control can help reduce the risk of propeller strikes due to inadvertent motor starts. ArmSafe® is an effective solution for reducing, not eliminating, the risk of injury around high powered electric models. When ArmSafe® is CORRECTLY USED, the user has better control of WHEN they energize and de-energize their RC model. Uses Deans® Ultra Plug® Pat# 5,533,915. ArmSafe® was developed to have all the features RC modelers want:
1. High Current Rating
2. Small Size
3. Proven Connector Reliability
4. Easy to Install
5. Easy to Use
This Kit include everything needed for one complete arming system:
1 – (AS1-B Arming Base)
1 – (AS1-P Arming Plug)
1 – 18” of High Flex Silicone Wire x 14AWG
4 – Pieces of Shrink Tubing
1 - Allen Wrench (L-Hex Key) 0.050" - Not Shown in Picture
* The above amperage limits are provided as a guide to help size ArmSafe® for RC models. But this is just a guide, you MUST test all installations at FULL load conditions to make sure that the wire and connectors do not get hot. These amperage guides are rated with 10mph x 80degF air flow for eight minutes, with burst ratings for 5 seconds provided the average current (including the bursts) does not exceed the Max Continuous amperage rating. Many factors will affect the amperage carrying capacity of wire, connectors, and wire harness assemblies such as; wire lengths, air temperature, amount of air movement, quality of the solder joints, wire quality, connector quality, and how long the current flows through the wire.

The ArmSafe Kit was easy to install. Two bad the company didn't provide wire in connectors. The two planes I am installing them in require longer screws then provided. The longest #2 screws I could find are 3/4" in length, 1" would have worked better for my planes.
Thank you for the review. We do offer 1" long screws if you need them in the future.

The best product I've found for safely arming electrics.

This is by far the best Safeguard you can purchase for your RC plane. Quality components with a simple approach to solving a safety problem. This is a No Fail failsafe! I would recommend purchasing the one with the built in lanyard opposed to drilling a hole in the safety plug. Not a big thing but nice for convenience. I already need a second one for a different airplane! I will have these on all my models.

My second one. A must for Electric planes. Quickly arm and disarm on the flight line rather than In the pits. SAFETY FIRST This company has shipped very promptly for both of my orders.

In addition to being a safety feature, the kit allows me to install the battery and assemble my Telemaster any time prior to flying it. The battery goes in through the wing saddle, so I previously had to connect the battery, install the wing, and fly immediately.

I use this product along with an MPI voltage regulator and a Sullivan Glow Driver on all my glo powered aircraft. It provides more current capability, and more reliability than a typical slide or toggle switch. It is cheaper and easier than making my own switch using the same connectors.

Very high quality components and easy to install and use. Certainly makes electric flying much safer and should significantly reduce the chance of accidents with the circular saw up front.

New to electric flying......need to be very aware of prop being energized by accident. And believe me it can happen!! When prop is installed, approach a/c from behind, never the front. Your 'key' can help to solve that problem!I wish i had known about the lanyard.........not seenwhen orig ordered the ARM SAFE......
