ArmSafe® Kit with 12AWG wire is rated for 80Amps continuous and 120Amps Burst. BUT these limits are ONLY a guide, see below.*

The ArmSafe® System was created to improve the safety of electric RC models by giving the user better control of WHEN they energize and de-energize their models.  This control can help reduce the risk of propeller strikes due to inadvertent motor starts.  ArmSafe® is an effective solution for reducing, not eliminating, the risk of injury around high powered electric models.  When ArmSafe® is CORRECTLY USED, the user has better control of WHEN they energize and de-energize their RC model. Uses Deans® Ultra Plug® Pat# 5,533,915. ArmSafe® was developed to have all the features RC modelers want:

This Kit include everything needed for one complete arming system:

1 – (AS1-B   Arming Base)

1 – (AS1-P   Arming Plug)

1 – 18” of High Flex Silicone Wire x 12AWG

4 – Pieces of Shrink Tubing

1 - Allen Wrench (L-Hex Key) 0.050" - Not Shown in Picture

 

* The above amperage limits are provided as a guide to help size ArmSafe® for RC models. But this is just a guide, you MUST test all installations at FULL load conditions to make sure that the wire and connectors do not get hot. These amperage guides are rated with 10mph x 80degF air flow for eight minutes, with burst ratings for 5 seconds provided the average current (including the bursts) does not exceed the Max Continuous amperage rating. Many factors will affect the amperage carrying capacity of wire, connectors, and wire harness assemblies such as; wire lengths, air temperature, amount of air movement, quality of the solder joints, wire quality, connector quality, and how long the current flows through the wire.

    these things are GREAT! they won't work in a lot of the foam airplanes (even the optional 1" screws are not long enough for most of the foamies), but are great in balsa + covering models. You can leave your battery hooked up and ready to go without fear of power drain.

    Good idea, needs minor improvement to install in aircraft. Could provide tool to assist soldering accurately.

    SharpRC comment: Longer screws are available from us, they are 1" long.

    I was extremely disappointed that the unit was not a plug-n-play
    with the black wire, and the male & female deans plugs
    attached. I hate soldering.

  10. Hard to install on foam planes

    Due to thickness of foam fuselage, had to purchase longer screws. Was not able to find same thread. Had some difficulty in putting together the plug in the fuselage side.

    SharpRC response:
    For foam installations most people glue in the base. However we do sell longer screws for this purpose, but the shorter screws that come with the product are thread forming screws. So these shorter screws must be installed and removed to form the threads before the longer screws can be used.
